Juventus Football Trip – Turin derby!

Football Trip to Turin: a weekend between heritage and passion for Juventus

Do you dream of attending a Juventus FC match and discovering one of the most beautiful cities in Italy? A football trip to Turin is an experience not to be missed! Between culture, gastronomy, architecture and football passion, Turin is a perfect destination for a 2 to 3-day weekend.

Turin, the ideal destination for a football weekend

Before the match, the city offers plenty to do: cultural visits, walks, markets… It is a human-sized city, easy to explore on foot or by public transport, and rich in exceptional heritage.

The Royal Palace

Among the major visits, do not miss the Royal Palace of Turin. The gardens are freely accessible, but I also recommend visiting the interior: frescoes, furniture, reception rooms, and above all a magnificent armoury hall, where exceptional pieces are displayed in perfect geometry. A real favourite.

The Egyptian Museum of Turin

Do not miss the Egyptian Museum of Turin, one of the most important in the world. You will discover an incredible collection of mummies, sarcophagi, statues, and everyday objects that immerse you in Ancient Egypt. A dense and fascinating visit.

The Porta Palazzo Market

Just a few minutes from the city centre, the Porta Palazzo Market is one of the largest open-air markets in Europe. You can find everything there: fresh products, Italian specialties, clothes, spices… A true immersion into local Turin life.

The Mole Antonelliana and the National Cinema Museum

Impossible to miss the Mole Antonelliana, the symbol of Turin. This unique 167-meter-high building houses a treasure: the National Cinema Museum, which will delight all movie lovers. The exhibition is immersive, fun, and full of references to great films.

Then take the panoramic elevator up to the platform at 70 meters high: the view is spectacular! To admire the Mole itself, head to Monte dei Cappuccini, after a pleasant walk along the Po River. A breathtaking view of the city, the Alps and the Mole awaits you there.

The Derby della Mole at Juventus Stadium

The Derby della Mole, opposing Juventus and Torino FC, is a great opportunity to attend a match in an intense atmosphere. You may have noticed that this fixture is also called the Derby della Mole, referring to the building you absolutely must visit during your football trip to Turin. The two city teams face each other to sit at the very top of the city and at the top of the Mole! A building that is therefore at the heart of the city. Despite years of Juventus domination, this match remains highly anticipated. I attended this derby, and here is how my day unfolded.

Before the match: building tension

Arriving at the stadium 2 hours before kick-off, the atmosphere quickly builds. I was able to witness the arrival of the Juve players’ bus before the match and its reception by the supporters. There are many food options around the stadium, but only on one side! Unexpected bonus: a staff member gives me an official Juve scarf just after entering the stadium, while I was actually looking for the club shop! A nice gesture that put me even more into the evening’s atmosphere.

The Juventus Stadium: modernity and atmosphere

The Juventus Stadium (also called Allianz Stadium) is very recognizable with its two tricolour pylons on each side of the stadium. Inside, the seats form yellow stars and player silhouettes. Aesthetically, it is very impressive! It is one of the most modern stadiums in Italy, with a capacity of 41,000 seats, offering maximum proximity to the pitch, combined with excellent acoustics for atmosphere.

The derby atmosphere

The South Stand sets the tone straight from the warm-up. The Juve anthem is sung in unison, powerful chants, an animated away section despite their numerical inferiority: the atmosphere is intense! The away section caught my attention with its activity and its immediate proximity to the Bianconeri supporters. The South Stand of the Allianz Stadium sets the rhythm of the stadium. Juventus players take control of the match quite quickly, without being excessively dangerous. 1-0 at half-time. And it is ultimately the introduction of a blazing Conceição who seals the fate of the match by perfectly assisting Yildiz, who beats the Torino goalkeeper. Final score 2-0, leaving little room for regret for Torino.

Special mention to the Torino supporters, very active from start to finish. They made me want to attend the return leg at the Olympic Stadium.
